Diane Rapp became an entrepreneur when she started her own dog grooming salon in Santa Barbara, California. She spent the next thirty years as a small business owner; she sold real estate, started an office supply/copy center, and performed free-lance advertising design. During all those years Diane wrote stories as a cure for insomnia. \n\nAfter writing a tour guide book to the Caribbean together, her daughter gave her the idea of writing mysteries set on cruise ships. Murder Caribbean-Style and Murder on a Ghost Ship are the first two novels of a High Seas Mystery series. They introduce the main character while solving unusual murders. Murder for Glacier Blue (book 3) takes the reader on a cruise to Alaska with an art heist, murder, and a wedding planned for Glacier Bay. Diane's newest cruise ship mystery sails to the Western Caribbean ports of Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Bahamas, and Key West. The story begins with the Jonestown Massacre in 1978. A stalker begins a 39 year effort to kill. Natalia and Jason are the main characters in this standalone novel. They must protect six sets of identical twins as the stalker tries to harm them. The action ramps us as danger threatens in each port.\nAll books in the series are standalone stories with no cliff hangars. Enough information is given in each to satisfy the story without ruining the pleasure of going back to read the other books.\n\nDiane also writes Science-Fiction/Fantasy novels. The Alphas is the prequel to the Heirs to the Throne. It introduces the dogs and wolves that eventually formed the pack that headed into space. This story is also a standalone mystery, in which the heroine solves the murder of an old friend and discovers why her beloved German Shepherd was stolen. Howl of the Wolf is the first book in the Heirs to the Throne trilogy. It introduces the planet Drako, telepathic wolves, and the crew of the space ship who seeks sanctuary on a planet that has banned technology. The crew is in danger from one of their own as well as those who will fight for the throne. In the second book, The Havenshire Resistance, Queen Krystal's teenage daughters learn to use inherited powers. They join an army of Samurai women, telepathic wolves, and commoners to save the kingdom from an evil usurper. The third book of the trilogy is Dragon Defense. The planet is under threat by an Institute battleship. King Donovan must train teenagers to operate forbidden defense technology while his daughters make friends with a flock of wild dragons. The books have enough information provided to be read as standalone novels.\n\nDiane took a break from serious novels to write a fractured fairy tale (at her granddaughter's request). Dragon Knight and the Heart's Blood curse follows a magnificent dragon who is changed into a human knight. No dragon wants to become a knight, he'd rather eat them! Dragon learns important lessons during his quest to regain his form and a bit of humanity sneaks into his psyche. The story is funny enough that adults can enjoy reading the novel to their kids.
